ESRG Sports and Leisure is pleased to announce its latest venture, Emerge Sports Management. The new company is a partnership between ESRG and sports marketing agency 100AND10%. Launched as a female-focussed agency, Emerge works with talented female athletes to enhance their off-the-field marketing, communications and commercial success.
Among the first athletes to join the EMERGE team include England football vice-captain and Arsenal Ladies’ midfielder Jordan Nobbs, Commonwealth Games judo champion Nekoda Davis, and four-time paracanoeing world champion Emma Wiggs. Davis and Wiggs have recently been named as members of Team GB and Paralympics GB respectively for this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio. On being one of the first to join the EMERGE team, Jordan Nobbs said: “I am delighted to have signed with EMERGE Sports Management. The time and effort the team have already shown in creating the brand, website, photography and video has shown a real investment and I love the results. They have also presented some immediate new opportunities and I am looking forward to a positive long-term partnership.”
Emerge will work with select athletes such as these to develop their marketing and PR strategies, including the creation of individual brands, websites, show-reel videos and lifestyle photography. Aligned with their sporting success, this strategy will build the profile and awareness of the athlete, and create new commercial opportunities, enhancing their long term commercial potential. The company will also support its athletes through future financial planning and image rights advice.
Jenny Forbes, Head of Business Development for EMERGE Sports Management explained – “The sports management industry is increasingly competitive and EMERGE aims to offer something different; we’re focused on a longer-term view, working closely with our clients and wide network of brands to create the right position for each and every athlete. Our aim is to work with our athletes in the longer term and help drive the professionalism and commercialisation of a group of very talented female athletes”.
“They can focus on winning medals and breaking records, while we work on maximising their off-the-field opportunities,” adds Jonathan Wilson, Managing Director of 100AND10% and Director of EMERGE.
Tony Copsey, Chairman of the Emerge and Director of ESRG said, “The agreement to form EMERGE is a long term commitment by ESRG on a project we all believe passionately in. Women’s sport is under-represented with regards marketing expertise and athlete management, and we aim to create a real point of difference and have a positive impact for our growing list of clients.”
