New additions for First Sport Management

The ERSG Group is delighted to announce a number of significant deals and additions for investment company First Sports Management. Rapidly becoming an industry leader in sports representation, the company is owned and managed by sector experts Paul Mullaly and David Rodwell. Following the investment deal in August 2015, First Sports Management joined an already substantial range of sports-based interests within The ESRG Sports & Leisure Group, including Kicca, Urban Fitness, and SportsMed.

First Sports Management was joined by expert scout Bryan Glover in December 2015. Having over 25 years experience as a recruitment scout/Football Development Officer at West Ham United, Bryan can contribute a huge wealth of experience and knowledge, in addition to firm opportunities and links within the club. The ERSG Group’s David Evans sees this as “a valuable addition to First Sports Management, which reflects its already high credence within the industry”.

First Sport’s company ethos is to provide young sportspeople with an all-encompassing support and representation service, allowing them to concentrate on maximising their potential within their chosen sport. First Sports Management reaches far above and beyond a traditional management service, with dedicated managers supporting young sportspeople and their families, at the onset and throughout their careers, to a level almost parallel to a family relationship. Services include financial management (banking, pensions, insurance, etc), career planning, public relations and media training, commercial and sponsorship deals, 24 legal advice, crisis management and post support, and concierge services. First Sports’ expertise extends across a wide range of sports, and it is actively extending the business model into other sports such as golf, cricket, rugby league and rugby union. Working with First Sport Management, The ERSG Group is here able to invest invaluable connections and experience, in addition to financial backing.

With in-house expertise dedicated solely to football, the First Sports team holds a wealth of experience advising clubs, players and FIFA agents on a range of issues that face domestic and international footballers. They also work in an intermediary capacity with player exchanges and transfers, and have built up a myriad of contacts at all levels of the game both in the UK and internationally. Ryan O’Reilly, former Republic of Ireland U17s player and Stoke City U21s defender for the past four years, recently joined the client list, with the company managing his on-loan transfer to Wrexham AFC, agreed to the end of the season. The move is intended to bolster Wrexham, the team having seen three injured players; O’Reilly will provide a valuable addition to the teams defence in the wake of these injuries.

Another recent signing for First Sports Management is Italian player Lorenzo Minerva. The 18 year old striker has already proven his talent within Italy, and has now chosen First Sports to identify and match him with a team following his recent family relocation to the UK. Representing Minerva will encompass far more than securing him a team position; true to the First Sports model, a range of ‘off the pitch’ support will also be provided, with longevity in mind.
